The Religious Education programme will educate and develop the whole child in a supportive Catholic environment.
St Joseph’s School aims to provide opportunities for children to learn what it is to be Catholic – that is, what Catholics believe, and how they celebrate, live and pray. St Joseph’s School works alongside the parish and families to help the students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith as they grow in their faith.
The Catholic school is a place where the mana and tapu of each person is honoured and celebrated, where all are called to grow to realise their God-given talents, nurtured in faith and grow as disciples of Jesus.
All in the school community contribute to realise this through their commitment and gospel witness. To provide an encounter with Christ is our very reason for being.

Religious Education Programme
The Catholic Family/Whanau book explains what your child will be learning in each strand of the Catholic Curriculum.
Masses/Liturgies/Assemblies
As a school we attend Liturgies every Friday, these are organised by each class and the Leadership Teams. There are also School Masses throughout the year. These are held in the Sacred Heart Church. Parents are welcome to attend the School and Class Masses/Liturgies. The dates are published in the school calendar.
Prayer is a significant part of our school life and each morning begins with class prayer. Please ensure your child is at school on time to participate in prayers.
Sacramental Programme
This is organised by the Parish and supported by the school. If you are interested in your child participating in this programme please contact Sister Maureen on 3195385.
The Parish is running a parallel Sacrament Programme this year for students in Years 4 – 8 who wish to be Confirmed and make their First Communion.
